Govt to award scholarships to 50,000 students worth Rs 50 bln this year,Senate told.

ISLAMABAD -- Minister for Federal Education, Professional Training ,National History and Literary Heritage Shafqat Mehmood Friday said the government would confer scholarships worth Rs 50 billion to over 50,000 students this year.

Replying to the question of Senator Siraj-ul-Haq,he said a system should be devised for awarding maximum scholarships to the students, who could not afford further studies.

The Vice Chancellors in the Islamia College, University Peshawar ,Women University, Mardan and Bannu University of Science and Technology would be appointed soon as recruitment process in that regard was nearing completion right now, he added.
