Govt taking initiatives to empower women through Ahsas programme: Dr Sania.

ISLAMABAD -- The present government was taking initiatives to empower women through Ahsas programme.

An amount of Rs 200 billion allocated to run "Ahsas Programme" , which would help alleviate poverty besides improve the social life of most deserving women of the country, Dr Sania Nishtar, the Chairperson of Benazir Income Support Programe (BISP), expressed these views while talking to a news channel programme. The Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI), government working under dynamic leadership of Imran Khan, had taken steps and launched the 'Kifalat Programme' to cater the basic needs of poor segment of the society particularly those female who were living in less privileged part of the provinces, stated Dr Sania Nishtar, who was also the special assistant to the Prime Minister of Pakistan.

Giving details, she said that some 30,00,000 poor women would enjoy the benefits from the programme launched by the PTI government to uplift the female members of the downtrodden society.
