Govt narrative on Musharraf case verdict after review by its legal team: Firdous.

ISLAMABAD -- Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan on Thursday said the government's narrative about detailed judgment of special court in the high treason case against Pervez Musharraf, would be made public after its legal team reviewed the verdict.

Talking to media persons, she said that the government would stand with protection of the law. She said that it was responsibility lawyers of former president Pervez Musharraf to decide about the filing of appeal against the decision of the special court.

Earlier addressing participants of the workshop on role of journalists and future challenges, she said ensuring transparency and good governance was the top most priority of present government.

She said that far-reaching reforms were being carried out in Press Information Department (PID), and a new advertisement policy was being introduced to ensure transparency in disbursement of public sector advertisements.

She said that automation of PID would be done as per vision of the Prime Minister to ensure that regional press get its due right and share .
