Govt making policy to provide free of cost higher education to disabled people: President Alvi.

PESHAWAR -- President Dr. Arif Alvi says the government is making a policy in consultation with Higher Education Commission to provide free of cost higher education to disabled people.

Interacting with special persons in Peshawar on Monday, President Dr. Arif Alvi said the government is taking effective measures to financially stabilize special persons by making them self-sufficient.

Dr. Arif Alvi said the government has announced a number of educational scholarships for disables besides ensuring their quota in government departments.

He said the government is also providing loans to these people enabling them to start their own businesses.

Meanwhile President Dr. Arif Alvi has said that collaboration of Health and Population Welfare departments was essential and pivotal for promoting family planning and maternal health. He said that the rising population numbers are likely to adversely affect the economy, environment, health, education and quality of the lives of all citizens.
