Govt fails to implement subsidy on fertiliser bags.

LAHORE -- Kisan Board Pakistan Vice President Amanullah Chattha alleges the government is offering DAP fertiliser as part of its purported agriculture package at a price higher than what is available in the open market.

According to Mr Chattha, the government announced a subsidy of Rs2,500 per bag which will be given to farmers at a price of Rs11,225, as opposed to the open market price of Rs9,500. He regretted that this meant that the government was receiving Rs1,725 per bag as a subsidy from small farmers.
