Govt contractors suspend work.

MANSEHRA -- The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Contractors Association on Thursday announced suspension of work on the government's development projects in Hazara division citing 'unaffordable' costs as the reason.

'Construction materials have got so expensive that we [constructors] are breaking even at the operating level. While struggling to continue with work on government schemes, we're suspending work and will resume only if the rates of construction materials are brought down or our charges are increased in line with the inflation rate,' association vice-president Arshad Khan told reporters here.
