Govt committed to protect farmers right: Secretary Food.

KHANEWAL -- Provincial Secretary for Food, Waqas Ali Mehmood on Saturday said the government was committed to protect economic interests of farmers.

During the wheat purchase campaign, the government ensured purchase of wheat against recommended price Rs 1400 per 40kg. The government discouraged middlemen interference and ensured delivery of complete price to the growers.

He expressed these views during his visit to Food Centre here.
