Govt asked to ensure release of Shia 'missing persons'.

KARACHI -- Families of victims of enforced disappearance on Sunday demanded that the government ensure immediate release of Shia 'missing persons'.

The Joint Action Committee for Shia Missing Persons and the affected families made this demand during a press conference here at the Karachi Press Club.

Allama Abbas Haider Abedi, Majlis Wahdat-i-Muslimeen's Allama Mubashir Hassan and Imamia Students Organisation's Ali Owais and relatives of missing persons spoke.

They said the authorities concerned had released many detainees due to the coronavirus pandemic, but they had not released Shia missing persons even on Eid.
