Gold imports drop 4.8pc in five months.

KARACHI -- The import of gold into the country decreased by 4.81pc during the first five months of the current financial year (2019- 20) as compared to the corresponding period of last year. Pakistan imported gold worth $7.443 million during July-November FY20 compared to the imports of $7.819 million during July-November FY19, according to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS). In terms of quantity, the import of gold declined by 8.50pc, from 200 kilogrammes in 5MFY19 to 183 kilogrammes in 5MFY20.
