BIRMINGHAM -- Pakistan women's team captain Bismah Maroof revealed her desire to win a gold medal for the country at the Commonwealth Games on the eve of its opening ceremony.

The women's team skipper expressed her gratitude for being given the opportunity to bear the national flag at the opening ceremony of the event due today.

'It is a matter of great honour and pride to hold the national flag at the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games,' she said.
