GIKI, Engro sign MoU for research, training.

SWABI -- The Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology and Engro Corporation here on Friday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for a long-term bilateral cooperation for promoting research, industrial linkages, training, education and employment opportunities.

A delegation of Engro comprising its vice-president talent and culture Ms Arshia Saqib and managers talent acquisition Qasim Hassan and Ms Rukhama Mujtuba visited the GIK Institute and held a meeting with its rector Prof Dr Fazal Ahmad Khalid and other officials.

The MoU was inked bydirector of Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialisation, GIK Institute, Dr Farooq Sultan andMs Arshia Saqib. The signing ceremony was also attended by pro-rectors, deans and heads of departments.

According to the MoU, the Engro would notify the GIK Institute's placement office about the relevant vacancies to encourage its graduates to apply for jobs and internship opportunities besides proposing the final year project for the students in consultation with the relevant faculties/departments and schedule visits for the students to various plants of Engro subsidiaries.
