GIK Institute ranks prominently in world varsities.

SWABI -- The Ghulam Ishaq Khan (GIK) Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology has been ranked 401 of 600 universities globally in Times Higher Education (THE) University Impact Rankings 2020 while maintaining a prominent position among the Pakistani universities.

The academia of the institute said that the ranking was indicative of GIK's seriousness in adopting innovative approach and providing contemporary knowledge to the students.

They said that the Impact Rankings were based on universities performance in 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Universities can submit data on several metrics assigned to each SDG to calculate their performance.

They said an overall score was calculated by combining the three top-performing SDGs and a controlled category. This year GIK Institute's Top 3 SDGs were: SDG1: No Poverty; SDG4: Quality Education; and SDG11: Sustainable Cities and Communities; besides SDG 17...
