Gen Munir gives away medals to contest winners.

PESHAWAR -- Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir on Saturday said the Pakistan Army upheld 'soldierly attributes of courage, mutual cooperation, resilience and competence'during the ongoing fight against militancy.

He was addressing the closing ceremony for Sixth International Pakistan Army Team Spirit (PATS) competition at the National Counter-Terrorism Centre (NCTC) in Pabbi area of Nowshera district on Saturday, according to a statement issued by the military's media wing, ISPR.

It said 17 teams, including seven of the Pakistan Army and Pakistan Navy and 10 from Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Uzbekistan, Thailand, Jordan, US, Iraq, Kazakhstan and Qatar, participated in the competition. Teams from Azerbaijan, Canada, Gambia, Indonesia, Myanmar, Maldives, Senegal, Sudan, United Arab Emirates and the UK participated in the event as observers.

The competition continued round the clock from March 7 to March 9 in the mountainous and rugged terrain of Pabbi tehsil.
