GCU tells ACE No illegal posting made in last 10 years.

LAHORE -- The Government College University (GCU) has written to the Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) saying that no illegal appointment was made in the institution during the tenure of former vice chancellor (VC) Prof Dr Khalid Aftab.

The GCU wrote the letter to the ACE Punjab on Saturday regarding illegal appointments made during the last 10 years with certain rectifications in the earlier information shared by the varsity on the matter.

'Specifically, it is clarified that during the tenure of Dr Khalid Aftab, ex-vice vhancellor GCU (2002-11) no appointment was made against the prescribed law prevalent/applicable at that time,' it said, adding that prior to 'the Public Sector Universities (Amendment) Act 2012, the vice chancellor of GCU, Lahore had full powers to engage staff on contractual/adhoc basic for a period of six months under Section 13 of GCU, Lahore Ordinance 2002...
