GCU body okays Arshad Sharif memorial media studies institute.

LAHORE -- The Government College University (GCU) Academic Council on Wednesday approved various new departments and programmes aimed at strengthening the academic and research capabilities.

The 28th Academic Council meeting was chaired by Vice Chancellor (VC) Prof Dr Asghar Zaidi and attended by a number of eminent academicians and subject experts. The council approved establishment of the Arshad Sharif Memorial Institute of Media and Communication Studies.

This institute will include a Department of Digital Communication and Media and the Department of Media and Communication Studies, and will serve as a platform for practicing innovative media technologies and communication techniques
