Garam Chashma Road restored to traffic.

CHITRAL -- The Garam Chashma Road, which was damaged in Shasha area when a river flooded, was restored to vehicular traffic on Monday.

C and W executive engineer Usman Khan told Dawn that a new track was built 500 metres away from the damaged portion. He said during the construction traffic was diverted to another place.

He said a stretch of the road at Shasha passing through a narrow area between mountains and the river was frequently blocked during summer when water level rose in the river.

He said heavy machinery had been put on the standby on the site to restore the road for traffic within shortest possible time to save the commuters from inconvenience.

DIALYSIS MACHINE: The dialysis machine in district headquarters hospital has been out of order for last 10 months, forcing the kidney patients to travel to Peshawar for availing the facility.

Coming from a distant village, Saiful Islam, a kidney patient, said after the breakdown of the machine in August 2019, he could go to Peshawar only four times for having dialysis, and afterwards his condition deteriorated as travelling to Peshawar along with an attendant was expensive which not everyone could afford twice a month.
