Gang of 7 robbers mug house in I-10.

Islamabad -- A gang of seven armed robbers stormed into a house located at I-10 and made off with cash, gold and laptops, informed sources on Tuesday.

Police have registered case and started investigation with no recovery or arresting the robbers, they said. According to sources, a gang of seven robbers having guns into hands entered in a house located in Sector I-10 and made the entire family members hostage on gunpoint. Later, the robbers collected 22 tolas of gold ornaments, cash Rs 400,000 and three laptops. After committing crime, the robbers managed to escape from scene, sources said. Upon information, a heavy contingent of police visited the crime scene and collected evidences besides recording statements of victim family.

Maryam Safi, a guest who came from Lahore to meet her aunt, tweeted, 'The family were having dinner when seven robbers scaled the walls of house at 10pm and made us hostage on gunpoint. Robbers seemingly Afghan nationals had stolen 8 mobile phones, gold, cash and laptops. But the robbers had fled by hiding mobile phones in beds and other secret places of the house.'

A police spokesman, meanwhile, said police have arrested eight outlaws including two drug smugglers and recovered narcotics including ice, alcohol and weapons from their possession. According to him, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Qazi Jamil ur Rehman ordered crackdown against criminals.
