Funds released for payment to Mansehra teachers.

MANSEHRA -- District accounts officer Sardar Aftab on Wednesday said over 22 million funds had been released for the payment of salary to 100 teachers here after a delay of four months.

The development came after the disbursement of the amount by provincial authorities, according to Mr Aftab.

He told office-bearers of the All Primary School Teachers Association during a meeting that the released amount totalling over Rs22 million would be given away to the teachers both men and women.

The official said those teachers were appointed on contractual basis to schools for evening shifts.

The APSTA leaders led by their chairman Bashir Yusufzai informed Mr Aftab about the problems facing teachers due to a delay in salary payment.

Mr Yusufzai said those teachers were appointed to schools, which denied admission to locals due to staff shortages.
