LAHORE -- Mr Liaquat Ali Khan, Prime Minister, Pakistan, today [Nov 16] ... declared: 'My firm and undeviating objective as also the objective of the Pakistan Government, is to eliminate by peaceful and honourable means all existing causes of friction between the two Dominions and to establish conditions which would enable ourselves and our Indian neighbours to live in friendliness and amity.'

Mr Liaquat Ali Khan proposed that 'the whole dispute be brought before the bar of international opinion - and the UNO be asked immediately to appoint its representatives in Jammu and Kashmir State in order to put a stop to fighting and to the repression of Muslims in the state, to arrange the programme of withdrawal of outside...
