France stocks higher at close of trade; cac 40 up 1.06pc.

France stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Foods and Drugs, Gas and Water and General Financial sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 1.06 percent to hit a new 5-year high, while the SBF 120 index gained 1.07 percent. Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 419 to 158 and 86 ended unchanged. Shares in STMicroelectronics rose to 5-year highs; up 3.30 percent or 0.790 to 24.760.
