Four cops booked after man's death 'because of torture'.

LAHORE -- Following protest by locals over the death of a man allegedly because of torture in custody, the Islampura police lodged a case against four policemen.

As per sources, police picked a scrap dealer, Sheikh Munir, a resident of Akram Park, allegedly after a suspect arrested in a theft case claimed he would sell stolen items to him (scrap dealer).

The dealer's relatives alleged that a police team picked Munir from his shop and subjected him to sever torture, resulting in his immediate death.

Following the incident, protesters including relatives of the deceased blocked a road for traffic, demanding strict action against the policemen involved in alleged torture of the scrap dealer.
