Former deputy secretary's house looted.

ISLAMABAD -- Robbers looted cash and valuables from the house of a retired deputy secretary on Tuesday, sources told Dawn.

The house of the former government officer is located in Cabined Division Employees Housing Society in E-16/2, the police said.

The robbers also beat two sons of the retired officer and looted Rs750,000 in cash, gold ornaments weighing 20 tolas and other valuables.

Talking to Dawn, retired deputy secretary Sanaullah said four armed men entered the house by breaking the door. At 5:25am he noticed some noises.

When I woke up I saw four people in my bedroom pointing weapons towards me,' he added.

Later, they woke up other family members, including two sons and their wives, and moved all of them and a guest to a room where they tied his two sons and kicked and punched them badly to get details of cash and valuables kept in the house, Mr Sanaullah said, adding after getting information they looted cash, gold ornaments and other valuables and left the house at around 6am.
