Foreign Policy of RUSSIA.

Relying on substantial resources in all areas of human activity and pursuing a foreign policy that actively seeks to develop relations with sovereign States, international organizations and associations in various parts of the world, the Russian Federation contributes to the development of a positive, well-balanced and unifying international agenda with particular focus on preserving international peace and security. Such an approach is especially relevant now, when the international landscape is so varied and changes so quickly. In light of the dynamic development in a whole number of countries and regions the international community needs to respond to global challenges and threats in an adequate and comprehensive manner and combine efforts under the coordinating role of the UN building on a shared recognition that security, sustainable development and human rights are closely intertwined.

Nonetheless, what is happening in today's world is an attempt to introduce the concept of a unipolar world into international affairs in a pursuit of narrowly and selfishly defined national interests.

In this regard, it is noteworthy that despite Russia urging the Americans since the early 2000s to cease their flagrant violations of the Intermediate Forces Treaty (INF), which used to be a key element of global security architecture in the post-Cold War period, Washington refused to consider Russian factual and technically sound concerns. These concerns included the tests and practical use of the "target missiles" that the US has been launching for a full flight cycle without any attempts to destroy them and unmanned aerial vehicles that fit in the Treaty's definition "ground-launched cruise missiles". As if that was not enough, the US has recently deployed ground based MK-41 missile launchers thus restoring its infrastructure for the Tomahawk universal cruise missiles that they destroyed in the 1980s to comply with the INF Treaty.
