Foreign Minister Hosts India-mongolia Joint Committee on Cooperation

The Minister for Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, L.Purevsuren, paid an official visit to India on April 27 and 28 to hold the 5th meeting of the India-Mongolia Joint Committee on Cooperation, as well as to witness the signing of a general agreement on a one billion USD loan from the Government of India to the Government of Mongolia.

Minister L. Purevsuren and Vijay Kumar Singh, Minister of State for External Affairs of India, co-chaired the Joint Committee meeting and discussed future actions to further broaden and strengthen friendly relations, comprehensive cooperation between the two countries, as well as regional and international issues of mutual interest.

During the meeting, a general agreement on a one billion USD loan from the Government of India was signed by G.Ganbold, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to India, and David Rasquinha, Deputy Managing Director of EXIM Bank of India.

The authorities exchanged the instruments of ratification for the protocol for a treaty on the transfer of sentenced people, which was signed by the governments of Mongolia and India in May 2015.
