Flourishing democracy in the country owes a lot to struggle of common people in the country: Raja Pervaiz Ashraf.

ISLAMABAD -- While eulogizing the struggle and sacrifices of common masses for upholding democratic norms in the society, Speaker National Assembly Raja Pervaiz Ashraf has said that democracy and constitutional supremacy owes a lot to sacrifices of these unknown heroes. He said that incumbent government would strive best not to forget these sacrifices and it would continue to strive to ameliorate the hardships of masses.

He expressed these views while visiting the Monument of Democracy in Parliament House on Friday.

Speaker National Assembly Raja Pervaiz Ashraf has said that the incumbent government is the true representatives of sacrifices offered by common people for upholding the constitution supreme and for strengthening democracy in the country. He said that struggle and commitment of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ail Bhutto and Shaheed Mohtrama Benazir Bhutto to uplift the lifes of common people is an established historical fact and this democratic transition is the result of their sacrifices. He also said that the Democracy is the only way to resolve the outstanding issues faced by common people. He said that as a nation we should shun all differences to upheld the Supermacy of constitution and rule of law.

Later on, while talking to Journalists, he said that all issues and matters would be taken as per rules and regulations. In response to a question, he also said that this monument of democracy would be renovated to alive the memory of struggle of common people for democracy.
