Flour smuggling attempts foiled.

MIANWALI -- The district government beefed up its arrangements to combat the unlawful smuggling of flour to neighbouring Khyber Pakhtunkhwa districts, which is generating a flour shortage in the district.

The district administration deployed special teams at all entry/exit points, and on Sunday, Food Department teams confiscated 1,040 bags of 20kg each at various checkpoints in Isakhel tehsil and detained the perpetrators.

Some 340 bags were recovered at the Shakardara checkpoint, 50 at Qabool Khel checkpoint and 650 on the CPEC route Kot-Baylian.

Smugglers were arrested in accordance with the law, and the seized flour will be sold at district sale points.
