Flour prices surge in Lahore as Govt-Mills deadlock continues.

LAHORE -- The flour price dispute between flour mills and the government has still not been resolved with a 20 kg bag of flour now selling for Rs 1,035 in Lahore.

One of the most important daily-use commodities, flour, is seeing a rise in prices despite a new wheat season. A 20 kg bag of flour, which was available at Rs 825 a month ago, is now being sold for Rs 1,035 while a 10 kg bag sells for Rs 525.

In one month, price of a 20 kg bag of flour has risen by Rs 210. Flour mill owners say that they cannot sell flour at the old price as wheat's price has reached Rs 1,900 per maund in the open market.
