Flashman's Hotel.

THIS refers to Rawalpindi Cantonment Board's decision to construct car parks on two sites to be completed before Eid. One of the two sites - Flashman's Hotel - is a private property spread over 2.33 acres of land located at the most prime commercial area of the Rawalpindi cantonment engulfed on three sides by Bank Road, Shabbir Sharif Road and Haider Road. It is owned by Associated Hotels of Pakistan Ltd, a private limited company registered with SECP.

Flashman's Hotel, a landmark of Rawalpindi, is one of the four hotels. The other three are Faletti's Lahore, Dean's Peshawar and Cecil's Murree, originally owned by Associated Hotels of India Ltd - a subsidiary of International Oberoi Hotels.

In 2001, three hotels were privatised with the exception of Flashman's. In 1960, Associated Hotels of Pakistan Ltd was incorporated and 13 per cent of shares were offered to the public and the rest of 87pc remained with Mr Oberoi, an Indian national born in Bhaun, Chakwal district.
