Five arrested for being involved in robberies, street crime.


ISLAMABAD -- Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) of Islamabad police arrested five people involved in robberies and street crime, seizing 13 mobile phones, two laptops, weapons and face masks from them, a police spokesman said.

According to details, DIG (Operations) Waqaruddin Syed has ordered all zonal officers to crackdown against criminals including those involved in robbery and street crime and accelerated their efforts to curb crime in the city.

Following these directions, Superintendent of Police (investigation) Dr Syed Mustafa Tanveer constituted special teams under the supervision of CIADeputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Hakim Khan which included Inspector Abdul Ghafoor, Sub-Inspectors Khalid Maqsood, Qadir and ASI Jafar Ali along with other officials who successfully busted a five-member robbers' gang involved in snatching valuables at gunpoint.
