First FIR lodged in Bitani tribal police station.

LAKKI MARWAT -- The first ever FIR has been registered in Mastikhhel police station of Bitani tribal subdivision of Lakki Marwat district after the merger of tribal areas with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

Police said the FIR had been filed against three tribesmen for killing a woman in Saman Maroofkhel Sara Tangi locality of the tribal subdivision. They said the three accused had been charged of stoning a tribal woman to death over a dispute of her son diverting rainwater.

Complainant Wahidullah, the son of the deceased woman, told police that on May 17, when he was diverting rainwater at the back of his house to avert any damage to it, Gul Khajan, Aliman and Nazirullah came there and hurled abuses and threats on him.

He said later the three accused entered his house, and one of them, Aliman caught hold of him on orders of his uncle, Gul Khajan. He said Nazirullah attacked his mother, Gharga Bibi with stones inflicting her serious injuries.

The complainant said villagers came to their rescue and shifted his wounded mother to Khalifa Gul Nawaz Hospital in Bannu. Later, he said his mother was referred to Lady Reading Hospital in Peshawar where she succumbed to injuries on May...
