First citrus festival held in Khanpur.

HARIPUR -- To create an awareness of the economic potential of the local products and promote citrus varieties of Khanpur, Gandhara Resource Centre Pakistan in collaboration with Agri-Tourism Development Cooperation and Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation organised here on Sunday the First Annual Citrus Festival in Pindgagkhra Khanpur.

The organisers set up food, fruit and arts and crafts stalls for the visitors including women, and children from different cities while a group of agri-tourism enthusiasts from Lahore were also in attendance on this occasion.

The visitors were welcomed by veteran agri-tourism and horticulture experts including Tariq Tanveer, Malik Fateh Mohammad Khan, Ms Amena Hassan and Amir Sohail (DFO Rawalpindi).

Highlighting the objectives of the citrus festival, Dr Nadeem Omar Tarar said that it was designed to bring together all the major stakeholders for the promotion of Khanpur's citrus and stone arts of Taxila inspired by the glorious traditions of Gandhara civilisation.
