Fire destroys shops in Lakki city.

LAKKI MARWAT -- Fire gutted several shops near the main bus terminal in the Lakki city in the early hours on Monday.

The incident occurred in front of the tehsil municipal administration's Tanchi office along the Lakki-Mianwali Road.

A Rescue 1122 official said firefighters took over an hour to put out the blaze. He said a tandoor at a restaurant was the cause of fire which engulfed the nearby makeshift outlets.

The official said over a dozen firefighters along with two fire trucks took part in the operation.

No causality was reported in the incident.

It was the second fire incident in the commercial hub of the urban locality during last three weeks. A huge fire had destroyed makeshift shops of small traders at the same place on the night of Oct 9.

Talking to journalists on Monday, he said people had an opportunity to elect their representatives at the grassroots level.

'The honest candidates if elected will work for bringing development to their respective areas,' he said, adding the JI believed in the politics of serving people in a better way.
