Financial package for poets, writers sought.

TIMERGARA -- Insaf Saqafati Adabi Carvan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a literary body, on Tuesday demanded financial package for poets and writers.

Talking to journalists at Talash here, the body's provincial general secretary Tahir Altaf Sarhadi said artistes were in dire need of help, but they did not like to demand assistance due to their social status. He said the poets and writers should be included in the government's list of persons needing urgent help.

In the past, he said the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government had announced some privileges and incentives for the literary figures affected by militancy. He said the incumbent government should also announce relief for them ahead of Eid so they could celebrate the festival with their children in a better way.

SHOPS SEALED: Local administration on Tuesday sealed three shops for violating the SOPs in Adenzai tehsil of Lower Dir.

Additional assistant commissioner Sher Rehman visited bazaars in Chakdara to see whether traders had ensured social distancing protocols.

Several traders were booked for not wearing masks, gloves and violating social distancing protocols, while three shops were also sealed.
