Federal govt sacks CEOs of Pesco, Hesco.

ISLAMABAD -- The federal government has sacked the chief executive officers (CEOs) of Peshawar Electricity Supply Company (Pesco) and Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (Hesco).

The removal of the remaining 8 chief executive officers is also on the cards, official source told The Nation. The Ministry of Energy (Power Division) has removed Engineer Abdul Jabbar as CEO Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) and in his place appointed Engineer Gul Nabi Syed as new chief of the company, the source said. Similarly, CEO of Hyderabad Electric Supply Company Noor Ahmad Soomro has also been removed from his post and Riaz Pathan has been appointed as new CEO of the company, the source said.

The government is unsatisfied with the performance of all the 10 chief executive officers (CEOs) and will complete their removal process within next two months, the source said. All the existing CEOs had been inducted by the government of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf(PTI), however they have failed to bring any visible improvement in the XWDiscos performance, the source claimed.
