Federal govt, NEPRA put on notice in case pertaining to withdrawal of Sindh Industrial Support Pack.

Supreme Court (SC) has issued notices to federal government and NEPRA in the case on withdrawal of Sindh Industrial Support Package.

The court has also stopped implementation of the Sindh High Court (SHC) decision till the next hearing.

A3-member bench of SC presided over by Justice Umar Ata Bandial took up the case for hearing Friday.

Counsel for K Electric said subsidy amounting to Rs 3 was given to industry under Industrial Support Package.

Justice Mazhar Alam remarked some days back the news came that loss of billion of rupees was caused due to delay in placement of order in connection with furnace oil.

Counsel for K Electric said ' K-Electric had placed order in time.

The delay was caused by the authorities.

This subsidy was afforded all over the country and later it was cancelled.

The counsel for the industry said only NEPRA can change tariff and not the government.
