Extraction of granite, gravel continues in Karoonjhar Hills.

MITHI -- The illegal extraction of granite stones and gravel is going on unchecked from various points of Karoonjhar hills due to which Allah Rakhio Khoso, Zulfikar Ali Khoso, Ramsheh Kumar and other leaders of Karoonjhar Sujag Forum have asked the high-ups of Sindh Government to take notice of the ongoing extraction of granite and gravel from different points of the beautiful Karoonjhar hills. The leaders of the forum while talking to the media said that the contractors are not being prevented from their activities of extracting and using the same stone in the construction of small dams to store rainwater. They said that on their continued protest lawmakers from the area including Sindh Minister for Culture and Tourism Syed Sardar Ali Shah, MPA Qasim Siraj Soomro and others assured them of that they would not allow such practices but of no use so far and all was being done under the very nose of police and other officials of other departments.
