Extra wardens deployed on inundated roads: CTO.

RAWALPINDI -- Extra traffic wardens have been placed in low-lying areas that have been inundated in the monsoon rain while two trucks and lifters are on a standby to facilitate motorists.

This was stated by Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Naveed Irshad after visiting the city areas to monitor the flow of traffic.

He appreciated the officers and staff for maintaining good flow of traffic though some major roads were submerged in rainwater due to poor drainage and road engineering.

He said additional personnel had been deployed in the low-lying locations in view of the affected traffic flow.

Despite heavy rains, standing water on roads and all kinds of severe weather conditions, traffic officials are busy in performing their duties to facilitate the commuters, he added.

The traffic flow was disrupted near Ayub Park and Soan Bridge where rainwater accumulated due to poor drainage and road engineering.

Landsliding near Soan Bride was also posing danger to motorists and other people as construction work had been stopped and left incomplete due to unknown reasons.
