Extra traffic police to be deployed during Eid.

RAWALPINDI -- City Traffic Police have chalked out a plan with deployment of extra police and special picketing at 11 places to maintain flow of traffic on the eve of Eidul Fitr.

Syed Ali Akbar, Chief Traffic Officer (CTO), has issued the traffic plan to facilitate citizens with deploying extra police and erecting check points.

According to the traffic plan, inspectors, warden officers and traffic assistants will perform special duties.

In view of the spread of coronavirus, there will be a ban on the entry of tourists in Murree and special arrangements have been made to enforce it.

The CTO said the traffic police were cracking down on public service vehicles for overcharging and the citizens were asked to get help from the police helpline which had special squads for timely action.

Squads have also been set up to take legal action against wheeling or car skating.

Traffic police will be deployed in mosques, imambargahs, major highways, cemeteries and other places where Eid prayers are held. Strict legal action will be taken against vehicles and motorcycles without registration and non-model number plates.

The CTO appealed to parents to keep a close eye on their children and not to give them motorbikes or cars.
