Every vulnerable child must receive polio jab: DC.

TAXILA -- Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dr Hassan Waqar Cheema has called for focus on high-risk mobile populations so that every vulnerable child receives the polio vaccine on time.

He expressed these views while presiding over a meeting held on Friday to review arrangements for the upcoming polio campaign scheduled to be kicked off from Nov 21.

Chief Executive Officer (Health) Dr Jawad Elahi, assistant commissioners, DDHOs of six tehsils, vaccination superintendent, in-charge polio control room and representatives from World Health Organisation (WHO) were also present on this occasion. Dr Cheema urged officials of the health department and WHO representatives to ensure that polio drops are administered to all children between the ages of one to five and parents must cooperate with teams to make the campaign a success.
