WITH industries closing, it is the engineers who have been worst hit by the economic crisis. There are countywide layoffs in all large-scale industries, and employment opportunities for fresh engineering graduates are at their lowest.

Mechanical engineers have suffered greatly in terms of both employment opportunities and future prospects.

To make matters worse, there has been no shortage of exploiters in the private sector who offer jobs to fresh graduates at a meagre pay which simply adds insult to their injury.
