Engineering plays key role in economic growth, improves life of people: Baligh.

ISLAMABAD -- Punjab Governor Baligh Ur Rehman Thursday said that engineering played a key role in economic growth and development besides contributing significantly improving the life of people.

Talking to Chairman Engineering Development Board ( federal ministry of commerce and investment) Almas Hyder who called him in Lahore at Governor House, the governor said it had important link between the country's engineering capacity and its economic development.

He said industrial engineering had also provided a systematic approach to streamline and improve productivity and efficiency, according to a press release issued here.

He said its benefits could be linked directly to the work of industrial engineers which include more efficient with more profitable business.

Baligh Ur Rehman said engineering disciplines integrate scientific principles with practically oriented research,providing systems and process that create ways of acquiring new knowledge.

He said this integration makes engineering critical to successful industrial innovation.
