Eleven more die of coronavirus overnight, says CM.

KARACHI -- As many as 11 more Covid-19 patients died overnight, taking the death toll to 200 while 537 new cases tested positive.

In a statement issued from the CM House on Monday, Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah said that 3,730 tests were conducted which produced 14.4 per cent or 537 positive results. 'The number of coronavirus positive cases has reached 12,017 or 12.6 per cent of the total 95,053 tests conducted so far,' he added.

Mr Shah said that 11 more people lost their lives, lifting the death toll to 200 which constituted 1.6pc of the total patients. At present 9,668 patients were under treatment, he added. 'We have kept 8,178 patients or 84 per cent of the total patients under treatment in home isolation where our doctors keep advising them,' he said and added that 911 patient were in isolation centres and 597 at different hospitals.

The CM said that 96 patients or 16.6pc were in critical condition while 25 of them were put on ventilators.

He said that 68 patients recovered and were discharged from hospitals while the number of patients recovered so far reached 2,149 or 18pc of the total detected cases.

Sharing the data of Karachi, Mr Shah said that out of total 537 new cases, 432 belonged to Karachi districts - 142 in Malir, 62 in Central, 61 in East, 58 in Korangi, 58 in South and 51 in West.
