Electricity woes.

THE electricity supply situation in our locality which is Khadda Market, Maulana Mohammad Sadiq Road, Lyari, is very disappointing. This is one of the oldest residential areas of this metropolis which has been facing frequent power outages for the last few months.

The power utility switches off electricity at very inconvenient hours, like after midnight or early in the morning after Fajr prayers. This thoughtless action often results in misery to children and old people, especially since there is a heat wave in progress.

The area residents have brought this matter to the notice of K-Electric officials many times but to no avail. The staff posted at the KE complaint centre always replies that our area is suffering a technical fault and it will be addressed as soon as possible.

The fact of the matter is that the power utility is resorting to prolonged bouts of announced as well as unannounced power shutdowns three to four times in a 24-hour cycle for reasons best...
