Ekkaghund residents protest power outages.

MOHMAND -- The residents and traders of Ekkaghund area of Mohmand district continued their protest against prolonged power outages on Tuesday.

The protesters blocked the Peshawar-Bajaur road in Ekkaghund bazaar for three hours and said the prolonged outages had made life miserable for the people.

They alleged that factories had been given power supply from the domestic supply line illegally with the connivance of Wapda officials due to which the feeder was loaded and they were subjected to unscheduled and prolonged power cuts.

The protesters said that power to factories should be disconnected from the domestic line.

They said despite assurances the relevant officials failed to ensure smooth power supply to the residents.

The traders and people of Ekkaghund have been protesting against power outages for over a month now.
