Effective measures sought to control dengue.

GUJRANWALA -- Commissioner Zulfiqar Ahmed Ghumman has sought result-oriented and well-coordinated steps to control dengue across the division, saying it is our national obligation to play individual as well as collective role to uproot the deadly disease from the country.

He expressed these views after attending a video-link meeting on dengue, chaired by Provincial Health Minister Dr Yasmeen Rashid. The commissioner said that dengue was a serious issue, which if not taken care of well in time, may prove dangerous and fatal for precious human life.

He said the government was fully committed to uprooting the deadly menace across the country and this could only be done through committed and collective efforts by all segments of society.

He said any slackness on the part of government departments may result in loss of life and it was the prime duty of the health department to make all possible efforts to check the spread of dengue besides destroying the probable breeding places. He said we must work with national spirit and do our best to get the desired result.
