Educational institutions to have career counselling centres: minister.

LAHORE -- Punjab Minister for Higher Education and Information Technology Raja Yasir Humayun says career counselling centres will be set up in educational institutions to guide the students.

A web portal will also be launched to help the students. He was giving an interview to the FM radio and web TV of the Lahore College for Women University. The minister also visited the Department of Mass Communication.

LCWU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Bushra Mirza and Department Chairperson Dr Anjum Zia briefed the minister on the equipment, studios and laboratories set up in the department. The VC said in his briefing that during Covid-19, the Lahore College for Women University continued teaching with the help of the Learning Management System.

The provincial minister lauded the achievement and said that his department wishes to introduce a learning management system in all the universities. Funds have been released to the Punjab Higher Education for the development of software for this purpose.

The minister also held a question and answer session with the students and briefed them on his department and the Punjab government's performance and plans.

SCHOLARSHIPS: Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Niaz Ahmad has announced scholarships for the Tajikistan students who will seek admissions in fall 2021 as part of efforts to bring the two nations together.
