ECP decision proves Imran Khan receives foreign funding: Bilal Azhar.

ISLAMABAD -- Coordinator to the Prime Minister for Energy Bilal Azhar Kayani on Thursday said the historic decision of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) proved that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan and his party did receive foreign funding and provided false affidavits and information to the electoral body.

'Through this decision, the reality of 'Sadiq and Ameen' has come to fore. The foreign funding case is the real side of PTI chairman, and the ECP's decision has lifted the veil on the real face of Imran Khan," he said in a presser here.

Kayani said the narrative that Imran was honest and loyal had been busted after the ECP's decision. 'Imran took money in the name of charity and political change. It is the habit of Imran Khan that he has always snubbed the person who at sometimes helped him."

The foreign funding case was being delayed by Imran for the past eight years as he knew there was something suspicious in it, therefore, Kayani said, Imran used different tactics to delay the case. "He took more than 50 adjournments, changed nine advocates, put 11 petitions in courts to stop the case but all went in vain as justice was served at last."

Even in Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) case, when Peshawar High court asked the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and National Accountability Bureau (NAB) for the inquiry, PTI sought stay from the courts, he added.

The coordinator said before ECP's decision, a story of reporter Simon Clarke on Wootton Cricket Limited was published in Financial Times' UK Edition, according to which Imran's friend held an event to raise foreign funding for him and his party. 'A total of 2.1 million dollars was collected through the event. The USA was asking for Imran's friend Arif Naqvi's extradition who was involved in the said fundraising event.'
