ECP allows IG requisition for police promotions.

LAHORE -- The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has granted approval to the requisition of the Punjab Police department to initiate promotion process of the police officers in various ranks.

The requisition was sent by Punjab Inspector General Police Dr Usman Anwar for promotion to clear the pending cases of the police officers, including DSPs, inspectors and sub-inspectors.

Following the ECP approval, the IGP directed the police officers concerned to prepare the list of the officers before holding the meetings of the promotion boards and committees.

Presiding over a meeting regarding holding of the promotion boards, he directed them to complete the process of departmental promotions from DSP to SP, inspector to DSP and sub-inspector to inspector ranks as soon as possible to fill the vacant posts.
