Economic self-reliance to be achieved by promoting tax culture: minister.

LAHORE -- Finance Minister Hashim Jawan Bakht on Friday said taxation was a gateway to development and the goal of economic self-reliance could be achieved by promoting tax culture.

He was presiding over meeting of resource mobilisation committee at Chief Minister's Office. Different proposals were discussed in detail to enhance the provincial resources.

He said that national resources would be spent on public welfare and promotion of health and education sectors, adding that funds would also be utilised to improve standard of basic facilities by enhancing resources.
