Dualization project of N-55 Petaro-Sehwan Section nearing completion.

ISLAMABAD -- Construction work of additional carriageway of Petaro-Sehwan section of Indus Highway (N-55) is nearing completion and is expected to be accomplished in a couple of months. An official of National Highway Authority (NHA) told reporter on Tuesday that the project has been divided in two sections costing Rs 1755.37 million and Rs 2120 million respectively. He said that work on both the packages stated in June 2018. So far over 93 per cent work of the package one has been completed whereas over 96 per cent work of the second package has been accomplished.

The project is part of Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation, (CAREC) Development Investment Programme aiming dualization and rehabilitation of 208 km of three road sections of the N-55 in Sindh (Dualization of 128 km Petaro-Sehwan section, 44 km Ratodero-Shikarpur section) and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa ( Rehabilitation work of 36 km Darra Adamkhel -Peshawar section ).
